Sterling, the largest city in the region, has developed into a medical hub for the area, including the CGH Medical Center, a 24-hour acute care facility, a newly-launched Veteran’s Administration Community-Based Outpatient Clinic, and many hospitals and clinics throughout the Dixon and Morrison areas to serve your needs.

The CGH Medical Center offers some of the most cutting edge medical technology and services in the region. The Main Clinic (formerly the Sterling Rock Falls Clinic) has been providing health care to area residents since 1953. Today it is one of the largest physician groups in northwest Illinois, providing a broad range of medical services to its patients. They provide over 20 specialty areas and many additional services ranging from speech therapy to full optical services.
A recently-completed expansion had added state-of-the-art upgrades and offerings, including:
• New surgical suites that accommodate more diverse procedures
• New private rooms with advanced security technology
• High-field GE MRI equipment
• Larger elevators for easier patient transfer
• An improved helicopter pad with more ready access to the ER and Critical Care Unit
“We want residents from throughout the Sauk Valley community to rest assured that they can get the best in medical resources without leaving the area,” said Ed Anderson, president and CEO of CGH Medical Center. “The design of the addition focused on the safety and security of CGH patients and guests, as well as adding family-friendly amenities to enhance patient and visitor comfort.”
